Press Release su “Maquillaje ” el film de Jaime Aymerich

Maquillaje, a new film by Mexican-American filmmaker Marcial Rios Salcido, premieres July 28th at The Bootleg Theatre in Echo Park (2220 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90057). Maquillaje follows the story of Monica, a used car lot clown with big girl syndrome. Her life in a small border town is not where she would like it to be: Her brother was just released from jail, her best friend is a prostitute and she’s in love with a gigolo used car salesman. This ensemble of characters has found themselves in the crossroads of life where they need to choose a new path. The ensemble cast included: Iyari Limon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jaime Aymerich (Un Secreto de Esperanza, Fat Actress and Dona Risa), Brenda Romero, Manuel Garcia Rulfo, Guillermo Huesca (trato Echo), and Carmen Jara (Mexican regional singer). “Maquillaje is not a Latino film. It happens to be in Spanish and it happens to have Latinos as characters but it’s not about the Latino experience. It’s a universal drama that everyone can relate to,” says writer and director Marcial Rios Salcido. Marcial is known for his previous work in bilingual music television, Se Habla Rock on Mun2 (NBC/Universal), LATV Live, and his popular short film, “La Tierra del Dolor.” Maquillaje features a music soundtrack by indie favorite, Audio Karate, recording for the first time in Spanish. About the Film Maquillaje is an independent film with duration of 1 hour and 41 minutes in Spanish with English subtitles.
